Ancestor Opening Ritual
Lately, I’ve been on this whole ritual kick because I feel an intense pull back to ritual. It’s what grounds and connects us to ourselves. We’re so busy going about the day to day business of our lives that we forget to practice presence.
Here is my gift to you today… a simple ritual for opening up communication with your ancestors. This ritual has opened communication between myself and my ancestors. it’s also helped my clients do the same thing.
So I’m opening my Book of Shadows to you and helping you do the same.
This is best for people who are looking to have open and constant communication with their bloodline.
This lifts the veil and ushers you into a relationship with them.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: A glass of water. A compass if you don’t know your directions (I use a compass app on my phone). Goddesses Green earth (A.K.A you’re doing this ritual outside)
If you can find a crossroads GREAT! This is simply a place where the ground goes is all 4 directions. I have a place like this in my backyard. If you do not have a space like this, it’s okay.
Go outside, breathe and ground yourself. Face the East while holding your glass of water and begin the ritual below… speaking the portions that are in quotations and the directions are in italics.
East: “I show honor and respect to the ancestors which are known to me.” Speak each name going back as far as you know. Pour out a small amount of water onto the ground
South: “I show honor and respect to the ancestors that walk with me.” Pour out a small amount of water onto the ground.
West: “I show honor and respect to the ancestors that have reincarnated or ascended.” Pour out a small amount of water onto the ground.
North: “I show honor and respect to the spirits which are unknown to me.” Pour out a small amount of water onto the ground.
“I open the connection to receive communication to my high minded and spiritually advanced ancestors who only want my greatest good. I ask that you walk with me on this path. Guide me and protect me as one of your descendants. I vow to treat you with reverence.”
This is now your time to make a request and or to speak from the heart.
Pour rest of the water out onto the ground
“I give Divine thanks”
